1920s Ludwig Brass Shell Snare Drum (USED)

Circa 1926 Ludwig 'Deluxe' snare drum 4x14 with 10 lugs. It features a 2-pc brass shell with the rolled back and soldered bearing edges and crimped snare beds. (ala a Black Beauty).  Drum was rebuilt by Steve Maxwell's Drum Shop in NYC approx 10 years ago. This drum was originally a 'Super' meaning a Super Sensitive throw-off system and was finished in 'Stipple Gold ' plating and had copper plated hardware. Due to the fact this finish can crack and chip off and the 'super' snare system parts are not generally replaceable, a Trick butt plate was added (no extra holes were needed) and a generic Pearl throw off was used because only one extra hole was drilled into the shell.
The shell was given a 'brushed' clear coated finish, new COB tube lugs, and Ludwig COB triple flange hoops from circa 1962 . It produces a fat warm sound with great sensitivity and cross sticking from beyond.
